AFC Bournemouth has secured the services of Moroccan international Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen, finalizing what is now confirmed as a done deal. The 25-year-old attacker has signed a five-year contract and is set to bring his versatility and winning mentality to the Premier League club.

The transfer fee is reported at approximately £25 million, with figures in euros suggesting a deal worth up to €30 million, contingent on performance-based add-ons.

The arrival of Adli adds significant firepower to Bournemouth’s offensive arsenal, with head of football operations Tiago Pinto expressing his enthusiasm.

“We’re thrilled to bring a player of such calibre to AFC Bournemouth. Amine is a proven winner and someone that will be a real asset to our squad. He’s entering the prime of his career and I’m really excited to bring him to the club. He’s someone that has competed at the highest level and his ambition is very much aligned with ours. I’m looking forward to working together and seeing what we can achieve,” he said.

Adli, visibly moved by the transition, responded warmly to his new surroundings. “I’m very proud first of all to play for a club like Bournemouth. I was looking at my next move and I felt like Bournemouth was the perfect place for me. The people around give me a lot of confidence here and I’m very impressed with the facilities. The people at the club are full of love, so I’m very happy and proud to play for Bournemouth and hopefully achieve good things,” he said.

Born on May 10, 2000, in Béziers, France, Adli’s footballing journey began in Toulouse’s youth setup.

After signing his first professional contract in October 2018, he quickly made an impact—most notably in the 2020–21 Ligue 2 campaign, where eight goals and seven assists helped secure him the league’s Player of the Year accolade and a place in the Team of the Season.

In August 2021, Adli moved to Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal. Over his time in Germany, he established himself as a creative force. His contributions were instrumental in Leverkusen’s unbeaten domestic double in 2023–24, when they captured both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.

He also earned the distinction of being the top scorer in that DFB-Pokal campaign and was a key presence in their run to the Europa League final. His overall Leverkusen record stands impressively at 94 caps and 14 goals, underscoring his evolution into a reliable attacking midfielder, winger, or forward.

Adli’s move to Bournemouth has broader repercussions and is closely linked to a transfer chain reaction this summer. Bournemouth are expected to move Dango Ouattara to Brentford for around £42.5 million, with Brentford then planning to facilitate Yoane Wissa’s sale to Newcastle.

The interconnected nature of these moves underscores how one high-profile transfer can ignite a cascade of strategic decisions across clubs.

In joining Bournemouth, Adli arrives at a club reshaping its squad with careful strategy. The Cherries have already added goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović from Chelsea, left-back Adrien Truffert from Rennes, center-back Bafodé Diakité from Lille, and winger Ben Doak from Liverpool.

As Bournemouth prepare to incorporate him into first-team action, optimism abounds. Pinto’s words resonate with ambition—Adli is not merely a signing, but a strategic investment for Bournemouth’s short- and long-term aspirations.

With his contract running until 2030, the club has signaled both confidence in his ability to deliver and a desire for continuity.
