President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to embrace unity as a driving force for national progress, drawing inspiration from the Harambee Stars’ recent success at the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Speaking after meeting the national football team, the Head of State stressed that unity was essential for achieving the country’s aspirations.

“Unity has always propelled us forward. We must never allow negativity, failure, or doubt to prevent us from reaching our full potential. If we believe in ourselves and refuse to let division or hate enter the equation, Kenya can become the great nation we all dream of.”

Ruto praised the Harambee Stars for their performance in the tournament, noting that their journey had brought Kenyans together and strengthened national pride.

“The Harambee Stars are proof of what unity can achieve. They have brought the country together and we are all witnessing the success it is bringing to the nation. We stand behind you, praying that this time we win will CHAN because it’s within close reach.”

The President congratulated the team for their victory over Morocco and their historic qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.

“Met the team to congratulate them on their victory over Morocco and their historic qualification for the CHAN knockout stages.”

In a show of support, Ruto announced lucrative incentives for the players should they continue their winning streak.

“We’ve also agreed on rewards: A win against Zambia next Sunday will earn each player Ksh2.5 million. If they triumph in the quarter-finals, each will be gifted Ksh1 million and a two-bedroom affordable housing unit in a location of their choice.”

The Harambee Stars will face Zambia in their final group match next Sunday, with qualification to the semi-finals offering them not just a shot at continental glory, but also the chance to secure the President’s promised rewards.
