Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill found himself at the center of controversy this week after police were called to his high-rise condominium in Sunny Isles Beach on Monday, April 7, 2025, following a reported domestic dispute with his wife, Keeta Hill. The incident, which unfolded at the couple’s residence on Collins Avenue, has since escalated with Keeta Hill filing for divorce the following day, according to court records obtained from Miami-Dade County.
The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department responded to a call around 2 p.m. on Monday regarding an “assault in progress.” Upon arrival, officers spoke with Hill, Keeta Hill, and her mother, Alesia Vaccaro, who has been living with the couple since late 2024. According to the incident report, the dispute began when Hill returned from training and attempted to discuss the couple’s ongoing therapy sessions with his wife. Tensions reportedly rose after Keeta told Hill he was not sufficiently involved with their daughter, born in November 2024.
The situation took a concerning turn when Vaccaro alleged that Hill threw a laptop to the floor and then picked up his daughter, walking toward the balcony of their 35th-floor condo. Vaccaro, who made the 911 call, described Hill as “very aggressive and impulsive” and expressed fear for her daughter’s safety, citing his “anger issues.” Video evidence obtained by Local 10 News later showed Hill holding his daughter near the balcony’s edge, though both Hill and Keeta maintained that the argument never turned physical. Keeta told police that a bruise on her chest may have been accidental, and officers noted the child appeared to be in good health.
No arrests were made, and the police closed the case after Hill left the residence approximately 40 minutes after their arrival. The Miami Dolphins issued a statement on Wednesday, April 9, acknowledging the incident: “On Monday, we were informed that the police were called to Tyreek Hill’s home, and after conversations with Tyreek and members of his family, the police departed the residence without further incident and the case was closed. We have since been in communication with Tyreek and the NFL and will have no further comment on the matter.”
However, the fallout continued as Keeta Hill filed for divorce on Tuesday, April 8, just one day after the dispute. The petition for dissolution of marriage, filed in Miami-Dade County, lists the couple’s separation date as Monday, the same day of the incident. Tyreek Hill and Keeta Vaccaro Hill were married on November 8, 2023, after a two-year engagement, marking a union that has now lasted less than 18 months. This is not the first time their marriage has faced public scrutiny; in January 2024, Hill filed for divorce only to retract it days later, claiming it was an error by his attorney, whom he subsequently fired.
Hill, 31, has a history of off-field incidents that have drawn attention throughout his NFL career. In 2015, while at Oklahoma State, he pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation involving his then-pregnant fiancée. More recently, he faced a traffic stop incident in September 2024 en route to the Dolphins’ season opener and settled a 2023 lawsuit with a marina employee over an alleged altercation. Despite these controversies, Hill has remained a key player for the Dolphins since his trade from the Kansas City Chiefs in March 2022, though this latest episode has sparked renewed calls from some fans for the team to reconsider his tenure.
