The Allianz Arena in Munich has been selected as the venue for the 2028 UEFA Champions League final. This decision signals UEFA’s continuing commitment to awarding its flagship club competition’s pinnacle match to world-class venues and positions Munich once again at the heart of the continental game.
The bidding process for the 2028 and 2029 finals opened on 11 July 2025, with UEFA inviting associations to propose venues that meet stringent criteria including natural grass surfaces, a minimum net capacity of approximately 70,000, and full UEFA Category 4 status.
Among the bidders, the Allianz Arena was the sole stadium officially registered for the 2028 final at the time of decision. UEFA is expected to formally confirm the host city in 2026, but documentation lists Munich’s Allianz Arena as the designated venue.
The Allianz Arena first opened in 2005 and has since hosted major international tournaments including the 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro matches, building a reputation for staging high-profile fixtures. Its previous experience with major finals adds to its credentials.
Securing the 2028 final enhances Munich’s global sporting profile. The city last hosted the Champions League final in 2012, when Chelsea defeated Bayern Munich on penalties at the Allianz Arena.

Companies like Beyond Hospitality, which already manage Champions League final packages, are expected to expand their services to cover the 2028 final in Munich, ensuring fans and VIP guests enjoy a world-class experience.
