Murang’a Seal have bolstered their technical bench with the arrival of former Harambee Stars midfielder Osborne Monday, marking another step in their preparations for the upcoming SportPesa League season.
The club confirmed the appointment through an official statement on their Facebook page, presenting the move as a bold declaration of intent as they seek to establish themselves as a stronger force in the top flight.
“We’re proud to welcome Osborne Monday to the MSeal technical bench. A seasoned midfielder with an international pedigree, Monday has worn the Kenyan colours with pride, featuring in 27 matches for the Harambee Stars as a dependable anchor in midfield.
“He has also competed at the very top of the local and regional game. Now, he brings that wealth of experience, leadership, and football intelligence to guide the Seal on our next chapter. This is more than an appointment; it’s a statement of intent. With Monday on board, we are sharper, stronger, and hungrier than ever,” read part of the club’s statement.
Monday will serve as assistant coach, working under acting head coach Don Otieno, who stepped into the role after the club parted ways with Yusuf Chipo in August.
The appointment comes just months after Monday left Shabana FC, where he worked as an analyst and played a key role in the club’s impressive fifth-place finish last season.
A proven winner, Monday is a two-time FKF Premier League champion, having lifted the title with Tusker and Sofapaka. His addition further complements Seal’s recent restructuring, which also saw former Harambee Stars defender Dennis Odhiambo join the backroom staff last month.
Holding a CAF B coaching license, Monday is expected to inject tactical depth and a winning mentality into the squad as Seal aim to improve on their struggles from last season.
The team narrowly avoided relegation on the final day, edging FC Talanta 1-0 in a tense encounter that secured their survival.
