Ryan Ogam and captain Michael Olunga each scored twice, while Collins Sichenje also found the back of the net as Harambee Stars cruised past Seychelles with a 5-0 victory in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier return leg.
The Kenyan side put on a commanding display at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Tuesday evening, September 9, ensuring a double over Seychelles after already defeating them in the first leg played at Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
In that earlier fixture, Olunga also bagged a brace, with Masoud Juma, Rooney Onyango, and Benson Omala joining him on the scoresheet.
Coach Benni McCarthy set up his team with an attacking front three, combining Olunga, Ogam, and debutant Job Ochieng. The lineup also included Manzur Okwaro and William Lenkupae, while Brian Bwire started between the posts.
The game opened with Seychelles attempting to press forward, creating two early chances, but Collins Sichenje was alert to snuff out danger. Kenya responded quickly, with Job Ochieng going close in the fifth minute. From the resulting free kick at the edge of the box, Ryan Ogam struck to hand Harambee Stars a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute.
Moments later, Olunga set up Ogam again, but a Seychelles defender made a critical block to deny him. Ochieng continued to test the visitors’ defense, though his attempts were either saved or deflected.
Seychelles had their own moment in the 14th minute with a long-range strike, but Bwire made a vital save.
Kenya doubled their advantage in the 35th minute when Sichenje smashed in from a free kick. Three minutes later, Ogam rose to head home another set-piece delivery, stretching the lead to 3-0.

Just before the break, Ogam was fouled inside the area, and Olunga confidently slotted in the resulting penalty for Kenya’s fourth goal.
After halftime, Seychelles tried to regroup and created pressure from a corner, but the Kenyan defense held firm. On the other end, William Lenkupae and Ochieng both missed chances to extend the lead, before McCarthy refreshed his squad in the 57th minute by bringing on Ben Stanley Omondi, Boniface Muchiri, and Marvin Nabwire.
Muchiri tested the Seychelles goalkeeper with a free kick in the 62nd minute, but it was Olunga who sealed the emphatic win in the 66th minute.
The Al Arabi striker finished clinically to complete his brace and tally his 34th international goal, putting him just two shy of Kenya’s all-time record scorer William Ouma.
